Illinois State Solar Car Team

Competing under the sun for over two decades!

The Illinois State University Solar Car Team aims to offer a unique learning experience for students interested in science, engineering, and technology as well as to provide an educational program to demonstrate the benefits of alternative energy to Illinois State University and neighboring communities. We plan to continue competing across North America and the world as a way to test and improve our skills and promote a greener future.

Mercury 7

Mercury 7 made its competition debut at the 2025 Formula Sun Grand Prix track competition and was able to score an eighth place finish out of the 26 teams in the Single Occupant Vehicle class.
